I made my own sewing pattern for the main piece, the collar, and the loop to hang it with. I cut out the main piece from flannel that I got for free from a fabric bin.

For the collar, I used some fleece that I had leftover from other projects.

Once I sewed both sides of the main pieces together, I found it was easiest to first attach the loop before attaching the collar.

These are the steps to attaching the collar (This is for you, Future Cara! She struggles with this step.).

To make the letters on the front of the stockings, I used fusible iron-on on the bad side of the fabric.

I left the backing paper of the fusible iron-on on the back of the fabric and I put the fabric onto a Cricut cutting mat with the good side of the fabric facing up. I used painters tape to hold the fabric in place.

I did the same thing for the fleece border. To cut the fleece, I used the "fusible fleece" setting on the Cricut and I used the rotary blade tool to cut it on the "More" pressure setting.

I used my Cricut Maker to cut out the letters. For the flannel, I used the "bonded denim" setting with the regular blade.

I positioned the fleece border on the stocking and ironed that down first. Then, I centered the flannel letter on top of it and ironed that into place.
