I wanted to make a simple project with the laser cutter at The Makerspace to show how wood can be layered. I decided to make a little skyline box of Minneapolis. I created a simple design in Adobe Illustrator using a few reference photos of the city. I traced and created buildings by using the marquee tool and the "merge" function. After I finished the design, I cut out the layers, painted them, and glued them together.

I also wrote up instructions on how to use the laser cutter to cut out this design. That way, people who are new to the machine can make this simple project and learn something new.
