I have a bunk bed and a silly little black cat who wants to sleep on it. I wanted to create a way for him to get on my bed without making some big, ugly, space sucking stairs for him to do so. I landed on a very simple solution of building him a ramp. This works well because I was able to hide it behind a shelf in my room and because he is very clumsy and stairs likely wouldn't have worked well for him.
I bought 3 8' x 1" boards that I cut using a hand saw.
These are the tools I used to make the frame.
I cut strips of fabric that I stabled to the top of the ramp so that he could better climb it.
Once the ramp was finished, I put it behind my shelf. Here you can see what it looks like.
This is the view of the shelf with the ramp behind it once I replace all of the boxes. It disappears from view.
This is what the top view of the ramp looks like. You can see I also added rungs on top of the fabric to help give him some stability.
This is how he enters the ramp.
This bin has a cut-out in the back so that he can access the ramp.
Here he is, on my bed.
