These are a few embroidery projects I've designed and made using the Brother SE6000 sewing/embroidery machine. I start by making a simple silhouette design in Adobe Illustrator. Here I also separate all of the layers into the order that I want the machine to embroider in. Usually, I do this by color-- I have the machine do all of one color first before moving to the next color. I save the design as an SVG file. I move this file over to Inkscape and use the Inkstitch extension to turn the design into a PES compatible file. I clasp the fabric into the embroidery frame with stabilizer behind it. I then use the PES file in the embroidery machine which does the rest of the work for me.
This is how the embroidery looks on the inside of the pillow. The white part is the embroidery stabilizer that I cut out after the design was done being embroidered.
This is another pillow that I made. I made the RD monogram in Adobe Illustrator.
This was my first ever attempt at using the embroidery machine. I embroidered a tea towel for the Makerspace I worked at.
