This is the cover of the magazine I made for my design class.
When I was in undergrad, I took a class where I learned about Adobe Suite products. I was able to enhance my Photoshop skills and learn how to use Illustrator and InDesign. Since then, I have used Illustrator to make everything from sewing patterns for stuffed animals or purses, embroidery designs, and fabric prints, to laser cutter designs like birdhouses and coasters. I have also used InDesign extensively to make my own books and notebooks. In combination with all of the skills I've learned in Adobe Suite, I have some experience doing Graphic design work. It mainly consists of digital drawings or simple text designs that I used for physical projects. This page showcases some of my work as it relates to good old fashioned graphic design.
The first project on this page are magazine spreads that I made for my aforementioned undergrad class.
This is one of the inside spreads I made for this magazine design project. I learned a lot about formatting from this project including adding page numbers, drop capital letters, and pull quotes.
This is the other inside spread I made for this magazine project. I also learned a lot about scanning patterns and hierarchy of information from this project and class. You can also see how I played around with font and color throughout these spreads.
Spotify Wrapped is a series of graphics and animations that Spotify releases to its users at the end of every year. These graphics tell users information about their listening habits on the Spotify app and it is generally revered as a fun and interesting way to reflect on our year. I am particularly fascinated with these stats and look forward to them every December. I also recognize that I have a lot of habits and repeated behaviors and it would be eye-opening to know how often I actually do them. Because of all of this, I decided to make my own Cara Wrapped in 2024. This included stats about what I ate, what I did, how I slept, and the activities I engaged in. I made the following graphics to showcase this information which I posted on my Instagram stories.
This is the first graphic I created for Cara Wrapped 2024. It briefly explains the "what" and the "when" of this project.
This is another graphic I designed with some of the stats. I kind of went with a ribbon and gift-wrapping theme this year.
This is another graphic I designed with some of the stats.
The following is from a project I did for a furniture design class I took in undergrad in the fall of 2021. I made this graphic to show my design process for restoring a chair, which was a semester long project for this class.
