When I worked at my Makerspace job, I realized that I could use the laser cutter to make keychain designs. I would make these designs in Adobe Illustrator and then cut them out in acrylic. The first design I made was this simple "M" emblem design for the University of Minnesota where I worked.
Above is the laser cut file I made for this design. To decorate the keychains, I used sharpies, acrylic paint, paper & mod podge, and stickers I cut with a Cricut.
I ended up using the keychains as a starter project at the Makerspace. I included all the necessary materials for anyone who was looking for an easy craft to do.
This is the Adobe Illustrator file for a Goldy Gopher keychain that I designed. The red line represents cut lines and the black is what the laser cutter rasters.
This is the Goldy keychain when cut out.
This is another keychain that I designed for Valentine's Day.
